Low-residue design is a set of choices about the sheet, liquid, and intended handling. A useful engineering explanation identifies the finish being targeted and how it would be evaluated. It does not assume that improving one property improves every other property.
Define the design objective
“Nothing left behind” is too broad to guide a meaningful comparison. An engineer needs a more specific target: reduced visible fibers under a defined contact procedure, for example, or an acceptable finish in a user evaluation.
Those objectives need separate methods. A material-loss measurement and a user’s preference rating cannot be substituted for each other.
Consider the whole use sequence
The sheet must be retrieved, handled, and used before its finish is judged. As a design hypothesis, difficult separation or tearing during retrieval could affect what the user receives. The liquid and sheet also need to work together in the intended condition.
That reasoning suggests what to investigate; it does not establish the cause of any particular product’s residue. Good design work tests the explanation instead of presenting it as an observed result.
Keep competing requirements visible
A wipe needs suitable handling performance without letting one property stand in for every other one. Greater resistance in one assessment does not automatically mean better feel or better breakup after disposal.
A proposed development program would assess the relevant properties separately, record tradeoffs, and repeat measurements after a material or formula change. This article is not reporting such a program’s results.

Ask for an observable endpoint
The most useful next question is how the design objective was checked. Which sample, which contact conditions, and which outcome? A precise answer is more informative than a longer list of appealing adjectives.
